What is a bulletin board on TikTok?

It’s TikTok’s broadcast channel for creators, inside the inbox. TikTok’s Help Center calls it “an in-app channel for eligible creators to communicate and engage with their followers”. How it works for the people on each side:

  • The creator posts, members react. Followers who join react to bulletins with emojis. Only members can react, and everyone can see the reactions.
  • Every member is a follower. Joining follows the creator automatically if you didn’t already.
  • Anyone can look. TikTok’s Creator Academy says anyone can browse a creator’s board, follower or not, but you have to join to interact with it. Checked against TikTok Creator Academy: Engaging your followers with the bulletin board feature (last updated Aug 18, 2026)
  • One invitation. Followers get a one-time notification inviting them to join.
  • The profile entry is optional. A creator chooses whether the board shows on their profile with the Show on profile setting; if it’s hidden, there’s no board under their bio to tap.

How do you join, mute or leave a TikTok bulletin board?

  2. Tap Activity, then tap the invitation to enter the bulletin board.
  3. Tap Join.

In the app: From a creator's profile:

In the app: To mute a bulletin board:

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Inbox at the bottom.
  2. Tap the bulletin board to enter it.
  3. Tap the More options ... button at the top.
  4. Turn the Mute bulletin board setting on.

How many bulletins can you post a day?

TikTok’s own pages disagree, so go by what your app shows. The Help Center says: “Keep in mind that you can post up to 3 bulletins per day on your bulletin board,” and deleted or recalled bulletins still count. Checked against TikTok Help Center: How to share your bulletins The Creator Academy says a bulletin board “allows you to send up to 20 bulletins a day.” Checked against TikTok Creator Academy: Engaging your followers with the bulletin board feature (last updated Aug 18, 2026)

Planning around the lower number is the safe choice. A deleted bulletin still counts toward the Help Center’s 3, and Delete for everyone only works for 3 minutes, so check each bulletin before you send it. Spend the slots on things followers would otherwise miss: a LIVE event, a new post, a music card, a photo or a short text update.

Bulletin board vs group chats: what’s the difference?

A bulletin board is a broadcast: one creator posts and members react. A group chat is a conversation among its members. TikTok has private group chats, which you can only invite mutual friends to, and public group chats, which can have up to 300 members and can be discovered and joined by others. TikTok says neither kind of group chat is available everywhere. Checked against TikTok Help Center: Public group chats on TikTok
