Pinterest Font Generator

Pinterest fonts means two things: styled text you paste into your profile or Pin copy, and the fonts you design Pin graphics with. The generator below does the first, with Pinterest's own limits for each field. The pairings section does the second. It's one of Outfeed AI's free tools, and it needs no signup.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. Pinterest rules checked 2026-10-02.

Pin titleNot documented

Pinterest does not document whether this field accepts styled text.

Pinterest's help pages, checked 2026-10-02, do not say whether styled Unicode letters work in this field. People do paste styled text into fields like this, but Outfeed has not tested it in the app.

14โ€“26 of 100 characters in bold (serif)

Styling costs 12 more than the same text in plain letters (14).

How this is counted: The platform does not publish how it counts. Treat the limit as approximate for emoji and styled Unicode text, which may count as more than one character. Not verified

Because Pinterest does not publish how it counts here, the count is shown as a range: one per visible character at the low end, the cautious count at the high end.

'Depending on the device, the first 40 characters may show in people's feeds.' For CJK, Arabic and other double-byte languages, the first 30.

Your name

A neutral mock-up, not a screenshot of Pinterest. How styled letters look depends on the fonts on each reader's device; a missing character shows as an empty box.

Convert back to plain text

Paste styled text into the box above and it is turned back into ordinary letters, ready to copy.

Before you paste

  • Accessibility: Styled text is made of Unicode symbols, not fonts. Screen readers may read the symbols one by one or skip them, search may not match them, and some devices show them as empty boxes. Use them sparingly, and never for information people need.
  • The platform does not publish how it counts. Treat the limit as approximate for emoji and styled Unicode text, which may count as more than one character.

Where styled text belongs on Pinterest

Style your profile name or one line of your bio, and keep everything people search in plain text; for emoji, see bio emoji ideas for every platform. Pinterest's help pages say which characters are allowed in only one of these fields, the username, and that rule leaves no room for styled letters. For the others, they say nothing about styled letters either way.

Field Styled text Limit What we suggest
Name Not documented None in the sources we checked The lowest-stakes spot for an accent. Keep your actual name or business name in plain letters so people can find you.
Bio (About) Not documented 500 characters One styled line at most. Write the words people might search for in plain text.
Pin title Not documented 100 characters Keep plain. People search these words.
Pin description Not documented 800 characters Keep plain. People search these words.
Board name Not documented None in the sources we checked Keep plain, like your Pin copy. People search these words too.
Username Plain text only 3โ€“30 characters Plain letters, numbers and underscores only.

Pinterest's username rule, in its words: "Remember, your username: Needs to be made up of just letters or a combination of letters, numbers and underscores; Needs to be between three and 30 characters; Cannot have spaces, punctuation marks or be made up of just numbers" Pinterest doesn't say how it counts emoji or styled letters against its limits, so leave room (our social media emoji guide lists the networks that do). Counted the cautious way (UTF-16 code units, as the tool's high-end count does), "Home decor ideas" is 16 in plain text and 30 as ๐‡๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ซ ๐ข๐๐ž๐š๐ฌ.

Pinterest fonts for Pin graphics: pairings that stay readable

Use two families at most: a display face for the headline and a plain face for any supporting line. Set the headline large, with strong contrast against the background, because a Pin is often seen small in a feed. Save script faces for a word or two. Put the key words in your Pin title and description as plain text too, so the Pin doesn't rely on the image alone.

Pairings for Pin graphics

Outfeed's suggestions, not Pinterest guidance. All are free families on Google Fonts under open-source licences; check each family's licence before you use it. No font files are served here.

  • Playfair Display headline + Source Sans 3 body. A high-contrast serif headline over a plain sans. A classic editorial look for recipes, decor and style Pins.
  • DM Serif Display headline + DM Sans body. Drawn as companions, so the proportions already match. Safe when you want one tidy system.
  • Montserrat (bold) headline + Merriweather body. A geometric sans headline with a sturdy serif for a supporting line. Reads well on busy photos behind a text panel.
  • Oswald headline + Lato body. A condensed headline fits a long title across a tall Pin without shrinking it.
  • Dancing Script (a word or two) headline + Montserrat body. Script as an accent only, with every word that carries meaning set in the sans.

How to use the Pinterest font generator

  1. Type or paste your text. Text that's already styled is turned back into plain letters first.
  2. Pick where it goes on Pinterest. The tool shows that field's verdict, its source and your count against the limit.
  3. Compare the styles. Use Preview to see one in a neutral mock-up.
  4. Copy it, or convert back to plain text if you change your mind.

Accessibility

Styled text is made of Unicode symbols, not fonts. Screen readers may read the symbols one by one or skip them, search may not match them, and some devices show them as empty boxes. Use them sparingly, and never for information people need. Write Pin alt text in plain words: it describes your image to people who can't see it. Strikethrough and underline add a mark after every character, which can split emoji on screen.

Publish the Pin with Outfeed

Outfeed AI publishes to Pinterest and 8 other platforms from one chat. On Pinterest it posts image Pins to a board you pick, with your text as the description and any alt text you add. It doesn't set a Pin title or destination link and doesn't post video Pins yet. For those, use Pinterest's own builder, as covered in how to post on Pinterest. For timing, see the best time to post on Pinterest.

Frequently asked questions

What font does Pinterest use?

Pinterest does not publish the name of the typeface its app and website use, and we found no Pinterest page that names one, so we don't name one here. A font generator doesn't change Pinterest's typeface either: it swaps your letters for Unicode symbols that look styled, which is why they survive copy and paste.

Can I use fancy fonts on Pinterest?

Not in your username: Pinterest says it must be just letters, or letters with numbers and underscores, 3 to 30 characters, with no spaces or punctuation. For your profile name, bio, Pin titles, descriptions and board names, Pinterest's help pages (checked 2026-10-02) don't say either way. If you use styled text, keep it to your profile name or one bio line.

Do styled fonts hurt Pinterest search?

Pinterest doesn't document how its search treats styled letters, so treat it as a risk: ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ is a different set of characters from "soup", and search may not match them. Keep Pin titles, descriptions, board names and alt text in plain words.

What fonts work best on Pin images?

This is Outfeed's suggestion, not Pinterest guidance: two families at most, a display face for the headline and a plain face for supporting text, set large with strong contrast so it still reads when the Pin shows small in a feed. Free open-source pairs such as Playfair Display with Source Sans 3 are a safe start.

How long can a Pin title and description be?

Pin titles take up to 100 characters and descriptions up to 800, per Pinterest's Pin specs (checked 2026-09-27). Depending on the device, only the first 40 characters of a title may show in feeds. Pinterest doesn't say how it counts emoji or styled letters, so leave room: counted the cautious way (UTF-16 code units), "Home decor ideas" is 16 in plain text and 30 in bold.
