You make money on TikTok through programs TikTok runs itself (Creator Rewards for videos at least a minute long, LIVE Gifts, Subscription and Super Fan, Series, TikTok Shop affiliate commissions) or through brand deals you disclose, including ones brands set up in TikTok One. Each route has its own age, follower and region bar, so working out how to make money on TikTok starts with the account you have.

This page covers the routes. The pay side has its own guide, how much TikTok pays, and the TikTok money calculator runs an estimate range on your own numbers. If you sit on the brand side of these deals, start with our influencer marketing strategy. Every rule below links the page it comes from, with the date it was checked.

Does TikTok pay you for views?

Yes, through the Creator Rewards Program, but only on eligible videos and only once your account qualifies. TikTok’s Help Center sets the bar: a Personal Account (Business accounts and political or government accounts aren’t eligible), age 18 or older (19 in South Korea), at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, and videos at least one minute long. The fine print decides which videos count:

It runs only where TikTok offers it. When we checked, TikTok’s Creator Academy listed eight countries, and the list changes: the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil. You must be based in one and have an account registered there. Checked against TikTok Creator Academy: Creator Rewards Program

What the program pays is a separate question, covered with its estimates and caveats in how much TikTok pays.

How do LIVE Gifts earn money?

Viewers send virtual Gifts during your LIVE, and TikTok awards you Diamonds based on the popularity of the LIVE; the total appears in your LIVE summary. Receiving Gifts and collecting Diamonds is subject to TikTok’s virtual items policy. Checked against TikTok Help Center: What is LIVE Gifts on TikTok?

To switch Gifts on, TikTok says you must live where LIVE Gifts is available, be at least 18 (19 in South Korea) and be eligible to go LIVE. Its Gifts page doesn’t list where Gifts is available, and government, politician, political party and other public interest accounts can’t collect Diamonds. Going LIVE takes age 18 and 1,000 followers, a number TikTok says may vary by region. Checked against TikTok Help Center: About TikTok LIVE

In the app: Turn LIVE Gifts on or off (TikTok app):

  1. On the LIVE screen, tap Settings.
  2. Turn the LIVE Gifts setting on or off.
  3. Make any additional changes on the LIVE screen and tap Go LIVE to complete.

Can fans pay you directly on TikTok?

Yes, in three ways: Subscription for content outside LIVE, Super Fan inside LIVE, and Series, which sells access to a collection of your videos.

TikTok’s Creator Academy says Super Fan, a monthly subscription exclusive to LIVE, upgraded the previous LIVE Subscription program, and that since September 2025 Subscription has focused on exclusive content. Checked against TikTok Creator Academy: Super Fan FAQ (last updated Oct 6, 2026) You join Subscription from the Monetization tab in TikTok Studio, where Join Subscription guides you through eligibility. Checked against TikTok Creator Academy: Getting started with Subscription (last updated Aug 18, 2026)

When TikTok opened Subscription to creators who don’t go LIVE in September 2024, it asked for age 18 or older, an account in good standing and at least 10K followers and 100K video views in the past calendar month, or specific LIVE eligibility requirements, a route that predates the Super Fan split. Checked against TikTok Newsroom: Subscription Expansion (23 September 2024) TikTok’s Super Fan pages give no separate creator threshold. Checked against TikTok Creator Academy: Super Fan FAQ (last updated Oct 6, 2026) Prices and perks for both are in the TikTok subscription guide.

Series puts up to 80 videos, each 30 seconds to 20 minutes long, behind a paywall. TikTok’s Help Center opens it to creators who are 18 or older (19 in South Korea) with a public account at least 30 days old, 10,000+ followers, 3+ public posts and 1,000+ views in the last 30 days, original content and good standing. With fewer than 10,000 followers you can still apply, if you meet the other requirements, by linking premium content you’ve sold on other platforms. On account type, TikTok’s pages differ: the Help Center accepts a public Personal or Business account, while the Creator Academy says Personal, with Business accounts eligible in select regions.

In the app: From the TikTok app:

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
  2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select TikTok Studio.
  3. Tap Series and follow the instructions to sign up. You'll need to read and agree to the program terms and policies and confirm your age to complete your application.

How does TikTok Shop affiliate work?

Approved creators show products on their profile, add shoppable links to videos and promote products in LIVEs, earning a commission that each seller sets per product; TikTok only suggests rates. How do brand deals work on TikTok?

A brand pays you to make or post content, and TikTok requires its commercial content disclosure toggle on any post that promotes a third-party brand for payment or another incentive, gifted products, affiliate links and promo codes included. That’s TikTok’s Branded Content Policy, in effect since 31 August 2026. Checked against TikTok: Branded Content Policy (published 4 August 2026, effective 31 August 2026)

TikTok One is where brands find creators, manage brand opportunities and pay them. To take part you must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live), follow the Community Guidelines and Branded Content Policy, and be in a supported region; projects need at least 1,000 followers, plus whatever each brand adds. The email, languages and expected rate on your TikTok One profile are visible to advertisers and agencies.

In the app:

  1. Step 1: Check you're eligible. You need to be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live), follow Community Guidelines and the Branded Content Policy, and be in a supported region.
  2. Step 2: Open TikTok One. Go to your profile, tap TikTok Studio, then select Creator Marketplace. It takes you straight into TikTok One.
  3. Step 3: Complete your profile. Start by completing your basic profile info. Email, Languages, Expected rate.
  4. Step 4: Watch for invitations, or apply directly.

Invitations arrive through your system notifications inbox, the Monetization inbox, the TikTok One homepage or email. Branded posts go on the brand’s account and can run as Spark Ads; sponsored posts go on your own account, tagged Sponsored. If a brand wants to run your post as a Spark Ad, you authorize it with a code generated in that post’s Ad settings, and the paid version still needs the branded content disclosure. Checked against TikTok Business Help Center: About Spark Ads

TikTok says turning the disclosure setting on won’t affect your post’s distribution in feeds, and that once a post is published the label can’t be changed: you’d remove the post and repost it. Here is where the toggle lives, on a computer or from a post in the app:

On a computer:

  1. Click Upload on the side panel.
  2. Click Select videos, then choose the file you'd like to upload.
  3. Click Show more. You may have to scroll down.
  4. Turn the Disclose post content setting on, then select whether you're promoting Your brand or Branded content, such as a third-party brand, product, or service.
  5. Adjust other settings, then click Post.

In the app: From your post:

  1. Go to your profile and select the post.
  2. Tap the More options … button on the side of the post.
  3. Tap Ad settings at the bottom. You may need to scroll across.
  4. Turn the Disclose commercial content setting on.
  5. Select whether you are promoting Your brand or Branded content, such as a third-party brand, product, or service.
  6. Tap Save, then tap Continue to confirm.

Making money on TikTok: FAQ

Can you make money on TikTok?

Yes. TikTok runs its own programs: Creator Rewards for creators with a Personal account, 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days; LIVE Gifts; Subscription and Super Fan; Series; and TikTok Shop affiliate commissions. Brands also pay creators directly, including through TikTok One. Each program sets its own age, follower and region rules.

Does TikTok pay you for views?

Yes, through the Creator Rewards Program, for original videos at least one minute long that you post after joining; each needs at least 1,000 qualified For You feed views. You need a Personal account, age 18 or older (19 in South Korea), 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Ads, paid promotions and sponsored content don’t qualify.

How do I monetize my TikTok?

Join the programs you qualify for from TikTok Studio: Subscription sits under the Monetization tab, as does TikTok Shop for Creator in the US, and Series and Creator Marketplace, which opens TikTok One, are in TikTok Studio too. If you’re eligible, LIVE Gifts are switched on from the settings on the LIVE screen; going LIVE takes age 18 and 1,000 followers, a number TikTok says may vary by region.

How do TikTok creators get paid?

It depends on the route. LIVE Gifts earn Diamonds based on the popularity of your LIVE, and subscribers pay a monthly fee. TikTok Shop affiliate commission is set by each seller and, in the US, is typically paid 15 days after delivery, or later if the seller’s settlement period is longer or a dispute, refund or return is open. Brands pay for sponsored work, and TikTok One is one place where brands find creators, manage brand opportunities and pay them.

Can you make money on TikTok by reposting other people’s videos?

Not through Creator Rewards. TikTok’s originality policy treats copied content, largely repurposed content without creative edits, low-value compilations and videos with someone else’s visible watermark as unoriginal. Unoriginal content may be removed from the For You feed and is ineligible for the Creator Rewards Program, where Duets and Stitches don’t count as original either.
