Meta Business Suite pricing is $0: no monthly fee, no annual plan, no paid tier and no trial. Meta’s help centre calls it a free platform: you can post, schedule, answer messages and read insights for Facebook and Instagram without paying. Money only enters through two separate, optional things: Meta Verified and ad spend.

Disclosure: Outfeed AI makes a competing social media tool. We read every price on the vendor’s own page and recommend the competitor where it fits better.

Is Meta Business Suite free?

Yes, fully. Meta’s help centre describes Business Suite as a free platform that lets your organisation use a business portfolio to manage its business assets. There’s no premium edition or seat charge, and the Meta Business Suite cost stays at zero however much you post. The whole price list, read from Meta:

Meta publishes no user or account limit, so we don’t invent one.

What can cost money around Meta Business Suite?

Two things, and neither is Business Suite itself: an optional Meta Verified subscription and the ad spend you choose. You can skip both indefinitely.

Meta Verified vs Meta Business Suite

Meta Verified for business is a paid subscription for a Facebook Page, an Instagram account or a WhatsApp business profile. Meta’s Meta Verified for business page lists a verified badge, impersonation protection and enhanced support among its benefits, and says “Plans, benefits, and availability may vary by region, app, and account.”

Because it isn’t one number, we don’t print one. One naming trap: Meta Verified tiers carry names such as “Business Standard” and “Business Plus”, so a “Meta Business Standard” price is a Meta Verified plan, not a paid Business Suite. Creators on Instagram choose from separate plans; see Meta Verified’s creator tiers on Instagram.

Ad spend

Ads and boosted posts are billed at the budget you set; nothing is charged unless you run one.

What can you do in Meta Business Suite for free?

Almost all the day-to-day work for a Facebook Page and an Instagram account: scheduling posts, Stories and Reels, answering messages, reading insights and creating ads, on desktop or mobile. As Meta describes it (our Meta Business Suite guide walks through each tool):

  • Planner and scheduling. Posts, Stories and Reels for both networks, on a week or month calendar. One post can carry different text for Facebook and Instagram.
  • Inbox. Facebook, Messenger and Instagram messages and notifications in one place.
  • Insights. Built-in performance data for your Page and Instagram account, including the Audience tab that replaced Facebook’s Audience Insights tool.
  • Ads. Ad creation and post boosting in the same workspace.

That first-party reach is its real advantage. For a Facebook-and-Instagram-only business, a paid scheduler has to win on something other than price, and often it can’t.

How far ahead can Meta Business Suite schedule posts?

For a Facebook Page post, between 20 minutes and 29 days ahead, in your current time zone. It’s the only window Meta publishes for Business Suite; there’s none for Instagram content or Page Stories and Reels, so treat other figures with caution.

The Meta Business Suite scheduling limits, beside Instagram’s separate in-app scheduler:

Where you scheduleHow far ahead (Meta’s figure)Daily cap (Meta’s figure)
Facebook Page post, in Business Suite20 minutes to 29 daysNone stated
Instagram post, Story or Reel, in Business SuiteNone statedNone stated
Instagram app, outside Business SuiteUp to 30 days25 posts a day

The Facebook window comes from Meta’s article on scheduling Page posts. Older guides quote a longer Instagram window; Instagram’s scheduling help article has said 30 days since February 2026.

Steps: how to schedule Facebook posts and how to schedule Instagram Stories. For slots, see the best time to post on Facebook.

Which platforms does Meta Business Suite not cover?

Everything outside Meta: TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky are not in Business Suite at all. Meta’s help centre lists its own apps only: Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Threads and WhatsApp.

When do you outgrow Meta Business Suite?

When your posting stops being Meta-only. Four triggers to watch:

  1. You add a non-Meta network. The first TikTok or LinkedIn post means a second app and calendar; by four networks, copying posts between apps is the job.
  2. You run several brands or clients. You can switch business portfolios in Business Suite, but every non-Meta account still needs its own login. See managing multiple social media accounts.
  3. Someone needs one calendar for everything. Planner shows Meta posts only.
  4. You want to write once and adapt per network. Business Suite varies text between Facebook and Instagram, but can’t adapt a caption for LinkedIn or X, because it doesn’t publish there.

If none apply, you haven’t outgrown it: a café with one Page and one Instagram account has no reason to pay. See our small business social media management guide.

What is the cheapest step up to a multi-platform scheduler?

A free plan. Buffer is free for up to 3 channels, and Metricool is free for 1 brand, without LinkedIn or X. Later has no free plan; Starter, at $25 per month, billed monthly, is its entry point.

Prices verified on buffer.com/pricing, metricool.com/pricing and later.com/pricing.

  • Buffer. Free covers 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time and 1 user; Essentials is $6 per channel/month, billed monthly. It supports more networks than most, including Mastodon and Google Business Profile, and it’s where we’d send a 3-channel business first. See Buffer pricing per channel.
  • Metricool. Free forever for 1 brand, 20 posts a month and 30 days of analytics; Starter is $25 per month, billed monthly for up to 5 brands. Its standout for Meta advertisers: Facebook and Instagram ad results beside organic posts. See Metricool pricing by brand.
  • Later. Starter is $25 per month, billed monthly, or $18.75 per month, billed annually, for one social set (a profile on each of 8 networks), 30 posts per profile a month and 1 user, with a 14-day trial that asks for a card. Its Visual Planner previews your Instagram grid. See Later pricing, plan by plan.

Notice the units: per channel, per brand, per social set. None of these entry plans is priced per seat, but each grows expensive differently; see per-seat vs per-account pricing. The social media tool price matrix lists every major tool on one page (how we compare tools), and our guide to affordable social media schedulers has a budget shortlist.

Where Outfeed AI fits, and where it doesn’t

If you only run a Facebook Page and an Instagram account, keep Meta Business Suite. On those two networks it does more than we do, for free.

Outfeed AI, the tool we make, is for when you add networks: you describe a post in a chat and it publishes to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky. Starter is $29 per month, billed monthly, or $24 per month, billed annually, for 10 accounts, 100 posts a month and 1 team member. Starter includes a 3-day free trial with 100 AI credits. Card required. Pro and Agency are billed from the first day.

The limits, in the same breath. On Meta, Outfeed is narrower than Business Suite: no Instagram Stories, no Facebook Stories or Reels, one photo or video per Facebook post, and it doesn’t hand posts to Meta’s scheduler, so they won’t sit in Business Suite’s Planner as scheduled. LinkedIn posting is to personal profiles, not Company Pages. There’s no social listening. X posts are text-only, with a monthly cap. TikTok posts publish as private for now, while TikTok reviews our app. Buffer supports more networks than our 9.

Cost at 3, 5 and 10 channels USD list prices before tax, worked out from each vendor's published prices. Billed monthly = what you pay each month on month-to-month billing. Billed annually = what one year costs when you pay yearly.

At 3 channels, Buffer Free wins outright. By 10, Starter costs less than Essentials but caps you at 100 posts a month; Essentials doesn’t. All plans: Outfeed AI pricing.

Meta Business Suite pricing FAQ

Is Meta Business Suite free?

Yes. Meta Business Suite costs $0, with no monthly or annual subscription, paid tier or trial; Meta’s help centre calls it a free platform. The only costs around it are optional: a Meta Verified subscription and any ad spend you run.

What’s the difference between Meta Business Suite and Meta Verified for business?

Meta Business Suite is Meta’s free tool for posting, scheduling, messages and insights on Facebook and Instagram. Meta Verified for business is a separate, optional paid subscription adding a verified badge, impersonation protection and enhanced support. Business Suite doesn’t require it.

How much does Meta Verified for business cost?

Meta sets the price and says plans, benefits and availability may vary by region, app and account, so check Meta’s Meta Verified for business page. Tier names such as ‘Business Standard’ refer to Meta Verified plans, not a paid Business Suite.

Do I have to pay for ads to use Meta Business Suite?

No. Posting, scheduling, the inbox and insights cost nothing, and you never have to run an ad. Ad spend starts only when you create an ad or boost a post, at a budget you set.

How far ahead can you schedule posts in Meta Business Suite?

For a Facebook Page post, 20 minutes to 29 days ahead, in your current time zone. Meta publishes no Business Suite window for Instagram; Instagram’s own app allows up to 30 days in advance; longer windows in older guides are out of date.

Can Meta Business Suite post to LinkedIn, TikTok or X?

No. It manages Meta’s own apps only: Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Threads and WhatsApp. TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky need their own apps or a third-party scheduler, such as Buffer’s free plan for up to 3 channels.
