Who can see your bookmarks? Twitter, now X, shows them only to you. Twitter bookmarks are private: nobody else can see which posts you’ve saved, and X never shows who bookmarked a post. Others can see a post’s total bookmark count, currently in the iOS app, and X documents no notification to the author when you bookmark.

This page covers who can see what, X’s steps for saving and finding posts on each device, bookmark folders, and how bookmarks differ from likes. For the features X did rename, see what changed when Twitter became X.

Are Twitter bookmarks private?

Yes. X’s Help Center says Bookmarks “are private and are only viewable to you within your X account.” No one else can open your list of saved posts, and bookmark folders, a Premium feature, are always private too. Can people see your bookmarks on X?

No. They can see how many times a post was bookmarked, but not who bookmarked it. X’s bookmark-count page says: “We only show the total number of Bookmarks, not the specific accounts that have added a post to their Bookmarks.” Anyone, author or reader, can see that total, which currently appears only in the iOS app. X describes no notification when someone bookmarks a post; the count is the only bookmark information it says it shows. How to see bookmarks on Twitter (X)

Open Bookmarks in your X menu. That’s where X keeps your saved posts, as a timeline you can return to at any time; the steps above show where it sits on each device.

On iPhone, Bookmarks may also appear in History. On 12 May 2026, Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, announced a History tab rolling out on iOS where “Bookmarks, Long Videos, Articles and Likes will live”. Checked against Post by Nikita Bier (@nikitabier), Head of Product at X (12 May 2026) X’s Help Center hadn’t described the tab in its latest archived Bookmarks page, from September 2026. Our page on X’s History tab and watch history covers what else the tab keeps.

Want a copy? X’s Help Center documents no bookmark export. Your downloadable X archive holds your profile, posts, Direct Messages, media, Lists and more, but X’s description of it doesn’t name bookmarks. Bookmarks vs likes

Both are private lists; the difference is what a post’s author sees. X made likes private in June 2024 but said the like count and other metrics for your own posts would “still show up under notifications”. Checked against Post by X Engineering (@Engineering), X's official engineering account (11 June 2024) For bookmarks, X documents no notification, and the only bookmark figure it describes is the total count, shown in the iOS app.
