How to Unhide a Post on Facebook (Profile and Page)
How to unhide a post on Facebook: open Activity Log and restore the post from its hidden list. On a profile, go to Your Facebook activity, then Posts, then Posts hidden from profile. On a Page, switch into the Page on a computer, filter Activity Log by Hidden posts and click Unhide. Posts you marked Not Interested aren’t stored there.
Two details trip people up. The Hide post option in the post menu has been replaced by Not Interested, and Facebook’s menu offers to delete or trash your own posts rather than hide them from your profile. Both are covered below, with Meta’s current steps for each device. New to Facebook’s menus? Start with our guide to using Facebook.

Where do hidden posts go on Facebook?
Hidden posts go to an Activity Log, and they stay on Facebook. A post hidden from your profile is listed in your Activity Log under Your Facebook activity, then Posts, then Posts hidden from profile. A hidden Page post stays in the Page’s Activity Log instead. Checked against Facebook Help Center: Remove or hide posts from your Facebook Page Posts you marked Not Interested are the exception: Facebook doesn’t store them as hidden posts at all.
How to unhide a post on your Facebook profile
Open your Activity Log, go to Your Facebook activity, then Posts, then Posts hidden from profile, and restore the post from that list. Meta publishes the route for a computer, iPhone and Android. Its article shows where hidden posts are listed but doesn’t name the button that puts one back on your profile, so we don’t name it either.
On a computer:
- Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
- Select Settings & Privacy, then tap Activity Log.
- In the left column, click Your Facebook activity, then click Posts.
- Click Posts hidden from profile. You can also scroll up to Filters and click Date to filter your content by Year to make it easier to search.
- Click Save Changes.
On iPhone:
- Tap Menu in the top left of Facebook, then tap your name.
- Tap Options below your profile photo, then tap Activity Log.
- Tap Your Facebook activity, then tap Posts.
- Tap Posts hidden from profile.
- Tap Filters at the top, then tap Categories to sort your posts.
On Android:
- Tap Menu in the top left of Facebook.
- Tap Options below your profile picture, then tap Activity Log.
- Tap Your Facebook activity, then tap Posts.
- Tap Posts hidden from profile to review.
- Tap Filters at the top, then tap Categories to sort your posts.

If the post isn’t in that list, it may never have been hidden from your profile. Meta’s menu offers Hide from profile on posts from friends, but Delete post or Move to trash on your own posts. Checked against Facebook Help Center: Remove or hide something posted on your Facebook profile The next sections cover what to check when you can’t find it.
How to unhide a post on a Facebook Page
Switch into the Page on a computer, open its Activity Log, filter by Hidden posts and click Unhide (or Add to Page). Meta publishes these steps for a computer only, and they need Facebook access to the Page. Not every Page post can be hidden in the first place: Meta’s examples of posts that can are cover photo and profile picture updates, and it says the option is only available for some posts.
On a computer:
- Log into Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.
- Click See all profiles, then select the Page you want to switch into.
- Go to your Activity Log.
- Search for or filter by Hidden posts.
- Click Unhide (or Add to Page) next to any post you want to restore.

Only have task access? Meta splits Page access into Facebook access, which lets you switch into the Page on Facebook, and task access, which works only in tools such as Meta Business Suite. Checked against Facebook Help Center: Create and manage a Facebook Page With task access, Meta says to manage Page posts from Meta Business Suite instead. Why can’t I find a post I hid?
Check three things: whether you marked it Not Interested, whether it was your own post, and whether you’re in the right Activity Log. Not Interested posts aren’t stored as hidden posts. Your own posts are deleted or moved to trash rather than hidden from your profile. And a Page’s hidden posts sit in the Page’s Activity Log, which Meta’s steps reach by switching into the Page first.
You marked it Not Interested
Meta says: “The ‘Hide post’ option has been replaced by ‘Not Interested’ in the post menu. Posts you mark as Not Interested help personalize your Feed but are not stored as hidden posts in your Activity Log.” So there is no hidden-post entry to restore. It was your own post
On your own posts, Meta’s menu offers Delete post on a computer and Move to trash in the iPhone and Android apps, not Hide from profile. In the apps, items you move to trash are deleted automatically after 30 days unless you restore or delete them sooner. Checked against Facebook Help Center: Remove or hide something posted on your Facebook profile On a computer, Meta’s article on removing or hiding profile posts says Delete post removes the post from Facebook entirely.
Trash is in your Activity Log. Meta’s article on archiving and deleting content (checked 2 October 2026) says a restored post is visible to the same audience you chose before you deleted it. It also notes that only certain types of content can be moved to Trash and that the feature isn’t available to everyone. Not sure whether you deleted a post or trashed it? Look in Trash first.
Can other people still see a post you hid?
Yes, if they’re in its audience. Hide from profile removes a post from your profile, not from Facebook. Meta says things you’ve hidden on your profile “are still visible to the audience they’re shared with other places on Facebook, such as in Feed and Search.” A hidden Page post may still show in Feed and search too, and photos in it still appear in the Page’s Photos section.

To limit who sees one of your own posts, change its audience or delete it; hiding won’t do that. Checked against Facebook Help Center: Choose who can see your post on Facebook Making your whole profile harder to find is a separate job, covered in how to hide your profile on Facebook.
Hide, delete or move to trash: what’s the difference?
Hiding takes a post off your profile but leaves it on Facebook; deleting and trashing take it out of view. Hide from profile is for posts from friends. Your own posts get Delete post on a computer or Move to trash in the iPhone and Android apps, and Trash gives you 30 days to restore a post before it’s deleted automatically.
| Option | Offered for | What it does | Can you undo it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hide from profile | Posts from friends on your profile | Takes the post off your profile, not off Facebook; its audience can still see it in Feed and search | Yes: restore it from Posts hidden from profile in Activity Log |
| Delete post | Your own posts, on a computer | Removes the post from Facebook entirely, according to Meta’s profile article | Meta’s article describes no undo |
| Move to trash | Your own posts, in the iPhone and Android apps | Keeps the post in Trash, visible only to you, then deletes it automatically after 30 days | Yes, within 30 days: a restored post returns to its previous audience |
Checked against Facebook Help Center: Remove or hide something posted on your Facebook profile.
The Delete post and Trash rows also draw on Meta’s articles on removing profile posts and archiving and deleting content, both checked 2 October 2026. The second also covers Archive, where content is visible only to you until you restore it.

Outfeed AI can’t unhide anything on Facebook; it’s a publishing tool that writes and schedules new posts for Facebook Pages (not profiles or groups) and eight other networks (TikTok posts publish as private while TikTok reviews the app). If you’re rebuilding a Page’s feed, our guide to scheduling Facebook posts covers Meta’s own scheduling routes, and Facebook post ideas covers what to post.

To your Activity Log. Posts you hid from your profile are listed under Your Facebook activity, then Posts, then Posts hidden from profile, and a hidden Page post stays in the Page’s Activity Log. How do I unhide a post I hid from my News Feed?
Not from Activity Log.
